E-Locker vs Air Locker‚ Why Electric Wins
Most selectable lockers available for the Sprinter, such as ARB’s Air Locker, are air-operated, and that means more parts, more cost, and more to go wrong. An air locker requires an onboard air compressor (or another permanent air source), an air-line run from the cab to the differential, solenoids, and rotating air seals inside the diff itself. Every one of those is an added expense at purchase, added labour at installation, and a potential failure point down the track: a chafed air-line, a leaking seal, or a failed compressor in the middle of nowhere leaves you without your locker exactly when you need it most.
